Monty Hancock
Background
I’m a composer, pianist, producer, and curator. I have three main evolving artist projects distributed with Platoon:
- Monty Hancock: poetic solo piano
- veilpath: ambient and cinematic textures
- miiinty: introspective electronic music
Beyond my own releases, I produce music directly for Apple Music and Spotify, creating weekly content for their sleep and wellness playlists. My output includes ambient soundscapes, spa and meditation recordings, sound baths, and peaceful piano tracks that are specifically crafted for DSP editorial programming
As part of the creative team at Karma Sounds, I help lead production and delivery across a high volume of wellness content. My work plays a key role in shaping the sound of DSP sleep and mindfulness catalogs across the major platforms.
I also work as a professional remixer and mastering engineer, collaborating with a wide range of artists and genres. Whether I’m building something from scratch or refining someone else’s vision, I bring a clear musical perspective, fast turnaround, and a strong ear for emotional tone and technical finish.
Who I Work With
I am currently published by Universal Music and receive A&R support through Universal and Virgin Music. Alongside Universal/Virgin Music, my artist projects are distributed worldwide via Platoon in partnership with Karma Sounds.
Since June 2024, I’ve worked closely with Karma Sounds on an ongoing basis, contributing to releases across peaceful piano, ambient, spa, and dance. I’ve run recording sessions at Karma’s in-house studios, collaborated on full projects, and delivered final masters for both internal and external artists.
Internationally, I’ve worked with Outdustry, one of the leading publishing houses in China. Through them, I’ve participated in sync camps and writing sessions for both pop artists and television series, expanding my practice into global songwriting and sync-focused collaboration.
Past collaborators include Fabich, Lei Yuxin, Shan Gao, GANNIX, Joe Publick, Life’s a Beach, Check Leopard, Stresshead, holybones, Gayanheh Lara, and T. Harding.

Where I’m From
I was born in Chichester, West Sussex, surrounded by countryside, music lessons, and quiet routines. I now live in Bangkok, a city full of noise, energy, and contrast. That shift between worlds sits at the heart of what I make. My work often explores peace in the middle of movement, and stillness between things.
What Matters to Me
I care about making music that feels honest, useful, and emotionally true. I value beauty, clarity, atmosphere, and a sense of purpose. Whether I’m writing a piano sketch, building an ambient bed, or mixing someone else’s track, I aim to create something that meets the moment and lingers quietly in memory.
